September 2012 :

..."In True Mental Universe" has become a double abum...the production is completed, at last (it was already the case a year ago...but...from little details of corrections (I'm maybe the only one to hear) to new pieces integrated, and a lack of time (amongst other things, life...)) delayed the project to now...only the "mastering" left to do, that I'd like to be done by a dedicated company, when I can finance the whole final process...
This album is quite different from "Gwen Menez", quite far from my works for Jon Anderson (that will hopefully and finally be released one day...), for the majority of the 22 pieces included...
As soon as life gets easier than now for me, everything should get in place...
So...long... "à bientôt" ...

February 2010 :

At last... the production of the first new album is now in a phase of active progress...
A lot of work left, but it should be ready within a few weeks now...
This forthcoming release is the new instrumental album, it should be called...

"In True Mental Universe" 

... and will feature a selection of 14 tracks ... 

I'll keep you informed here about the other works in progress too when I have significant news (vocal album, Jon Anderson, The Hope project...) ...
2010...the Light... that's what this number inspires me...

March 2009 :

At last...some news...it's been a while...!

Here's a short recapitulation of my musical works in progress...

My new instrumental and vocal albums should be almost completed...

But, for the last 2 years, I've also been collaborating with Jon Anderson, the magical legendary voice of Yes... first on orchestral works and then on different songs...
I hope, after all his recent health problems, these wonderful pieces will eventually be released a way or another in the near future...Anyway, it's been a great honour for me to collaborate with this tremendous artist I've always been a fan of...

More new projects to come too...but the release of the material in progress has to be a priority now... I'll keep you informed !...

May 2008 :

Four tracks from the forthcoming instrumental album are now online at my MySpace page (cf above) ... 
I  only have a couple of compositions to finish before having the whole album completed...

For now, i've signed up for "Gwen Menez" distribution by CD Baby ... it should be available there and at iTunes, etc...  ...in a couple of weeks...

March 2008 :

No significant news since the last update, but here's enclosed the demo version of one of the songs from the "vocal" album project still in progress...(please pause any other player before using the one below...), the song's called "Siempre Viva"... :

January 2008 :

Well...first of all...Happy New Year to all of you...

This site has been inactive for quite a long time now, sorry about it, and a new one is planned for soon... Though, I was not inactive...

 A large part of my creative musical involvement in 2007 has been for a new, interesting, challenging and magical opportunity to collaborate with one of my very favourite artist ever, and one of the greatest voice in rock music history...an icon of progressive rock...it's supposed to remain confidential for now...but more news here soon... wonderful music in progress anyway....
 
So, most of my previous work in progress ... is still so... ; a couple of the new songs are now part of the collaboration...For my solo works, the plan could be to mix vocal songs and instrumental music into the same album project...and for that, I’ve got far enough material almost completed, just needing to be finalized...at last...
Anyway...I lot of magical music to come to you soon...

An older but personal important piece of news was.... the birth of my ...third...son ! Tony Mikael Ezana AUDREN was born on the 23rd of October 2006...

(PS: since the last update of this site...i also celebrated the year 2000 ...of the Ethiopian calendar...last September in Addis Abeba...my second millennium celebration…I’m always a bit “décalé  …)   

 

July 2006 :

News from the progress... busy planning this summer...

- Voices recording and finalisation of the "vocal" album ( working title..."Alien Frenchip"...)

- Development of the instrumental project, including 13 tracks I can't wait to complete ; the only link with the previous one (Gwen Menez) is the second part of "Andromeda", but for the rest, really not in a celtic vein this time but I don't really know how to describe it (I will have to !)... a kind of melodic electro-prog ... I love these compositions anyway... 

- At last, I’ve decided to re-make my long time sold out first CD, Opus 1. I'm trying to re-acquire the digital multitrack recorder I used for it, and retrieve the original tracks, for a remake of what I was not satisfied with (especially the vocals) while keeping the essential instrumental parts... an OP1 MK2 I’ve planned to finish before the end of the year....

A lot of work in sight then...if I manage to keep energy and morale despite the uncertainty of the commercial issues... ;  in the same time, the sea is not far, the weather is great, and I’m enjoying it too...   
       

May 2006 :

The instrumental parts of the "vocal" album project are now almost completed (except a long and nice guitar part my fingers haven't arrived at end yet) ; 2 songs lyrics left to write ...and then I will be recording the vocals ...

Hopefully, the whole work should be ready within a few weeks now... The other, instrumental, will follow...It's not always easy keeping up the energy working on projects when you still don't know about the way (and even if...) they will be released, but all I’m sure about is that they will exist a way or another and it's all definitely really good stuff...and the result will be worth the time devoted...

Apart from that, life’s going on, and I will be dad for the third time in a few months...

January 2006 :

Happy New Year !

Work in progress : three (?) projects in parallel, record deal or not : a "vocal" album, including the tracks from the recent demos I told you about, and the final versions (much more...let's say, powerful and modern sounding) of the 2003 demos, along with a pair of new songs ... ; and then, a second one, instrumental, including a kind of material I’ve never released yet (except some parts in "Opus 1"), although it might represent a very personal musical trademark, music which could be called "melodic progressive electro ...something" ...or just, one day, Chris Audren kind of stuff... well, anyway, a way or another, I hope you can hear it later this year.       The third thing is the new open-air light shows projects I have to work on ... maybe for next year as time passes... News about work progress here soon ... but as I need my "day job" to make a living, you (and I!) have to be patient....                                                                                            
All my best wishes for 2006 !

November 2005 :

The new "set" of demos is ready ... at last ... for my approaches towards Publishing (in order to compose for others) ; it includes a new song called "Siempre Viva" (but sung in English, about spirit immortality...), a beautiful track (of course! ... but especially), quite long to produce ; there are the two previous songs in french (see below) along with 3 songs without lyrics yet ... and "Lonely Hearts" again.. as I’ve always been thinking this song should be a "hit" so I’m giving it a new chance, maybe by somebody else then ...

 Again, I cast dice ... wait & see ... (audio extracts here soon)

The instrumental "electro" project still in progress ; I’ve included a new composition I used for a "workshop" of "audio" software presentation in Paris, during an AMD processors Press conference / meeting...
And so on,  so on and... all the rest to manage...  
                                      

September 2005 :

One year has passed ! ... since I last  updated this site ... so sorry ... but this year has been a quite difficult period, a lot of problems to solve, including the bankruptcy of the builder of our new house...as the previous one was sold...well...I won't get into details, but my musical activity has been almost paralysed for months ...

...well... here I am again ... my new home studio ready for new musical adventures, 3 brand new tracks waiting for their lyrics (french or/and english ...) ... and finalizing the parallel, electro project ... and involved in two open air light shows projects ... and always the same problem of time and money ... (no producer around ?)

From now on, this site will be updated regularly ! promised !  and a lot of exciting new compositions to come ... if fate decides to show a lucky face to me ...at last...
 "Full Moon Insomnia" complete mp3 file is now available for download. A way of celebrating the 10th anniversary of my first track on a CD...

September 2004 :

Back home after a great trip in India (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry,  Karnataka, Goa ...and Mumbai (Bombay) ) ... a lot to tell about it...but the purpose of this site is my musical activity...
... and time seems to pass even faster than before...so many things to deal with...I really have to focus more efficiently on my projects...
 I told you previously about the two songs I 've composed in French (I didn't take time, during my stay in India, to write the lyrics of two other songs I had in mind, as I had planned if I had been settling and resting a bit sometimes...but it's rarely been the case...) ;

July 2004:

The demos I recorded last year (probably the most "commercial" stuff  I’ve ever produced) are still in search (like their composer...) for a Record Company (or a Producer) that still have ears ... ; depending on my recent approaches, these songs could become either material for an edition contract, for a record contract... or part of my next vocal album ... you can find below the links to mp3 extracts of these 9 songs (including a new version of "Lonely Hearts", initially on "Opus 1") ...the comments are welcome... (again... all rights reserved on all audio material available on this site ... of course...)

Another piece of important news : for the very first time (why not before ? one could ask ... as the result seems to be more than encouraging ...), I’ve  started a collaboration  with 2 lyrics writers to compose Chansons (songs) en Français ! (in french...) ; I’ve composed and sung songs from a selection of texts... and the first results are 2 songs called "Il est des si" (lyrics by Sophie Maigné) and "Pour elles" (lyrics by Laurent Roman) ...  and all the people who have listened to them just seem to love them, and consider my voice is great for french singing (no space here (probably in the "Who?" section in a future update...) to tell why I’ve always wanted to sing in English before... maybe the reason why I’m still unsigned ...after all...but Breton have the reputation of being very stubborn people...and so am I...)
we'll see in September what to make of these songs... as it's now vacation time , useless to contact people until "back to school" ... extracts here too when I’m back from my own travelling month in India ...

Last thing in "what's next" section : I’ll soon initiate the idea of a new project of big thematic open-air light show ... please cross your fingers with me...I’ve such great celtic instrumental progressive music in stock to produce for such an exciting event...(thank you ...(for crossing your fingers for me...because otherwise, it gets very difficult for me to play the keyboards ...)
